In a significant show of market confidence, WisdomAI, a promising new startup founded by Rubrik co-founder Soham Mazumdar, has successfully closed a $50 million Series A funding round. The investment was led by the renowned venture firm Kleiner Perkins, with notable participation from NVentures, NVIDIA’s venture capital arm.
This major financial milestone arrives just six months after the company’s initial $23 million seed round, led by Coatue, signaling strong investor belief in its unique approach to a common business problem.
WisdomAI addresses a universal challenge in the corporate world: making sense of vast amounts of disconnected and messy data. Their platform uses advanced artificial intelligence to allow business users to ask questions in plain English and get immediate answers.
For example, a sales manager can simply ask, “Which of our product features are mentioned most in negative customer feedback?” or “What was our most profitable region last quarter?” The system is designed to pull insights from all data sources, whether it’s structured data in spreadsheets, unstructured data from documents and emails, or so-called “dirty data” that contains typos and inconsistencies.
A well-known issue with large language models (LLMs) like ChatGPT is their tendency to “hallucinate,” or invent plausible-sounding but factually incorrect information. WisdomAI has engineered a clever method to eliminate this risk in data analytics.
Instead of using an LLM to generate the final answer, the system only uses the LLM as a translator. It converts a user’s natural language question into a precise database query. If the translation is imperfect, the result is simply an ineffective query that returns no data, rather than a confidently written false answer. This ensures that all insights are grounded directly in the company’s actual data.
The startup’s core technology includes a proprietary “enterprise context layer” that learns the specific meaning and relationships within a customer’s unique data environment.

Since its official launch, WisdomAI has demonstrated impressive growth, expanding its client base from two to approximately forty enterprise customers. Its roster includes well-known names such as Cisco, ConocoPhillips, Patreon, and Descope.
More importantly, engagement within these companies is soaring. CEO Soham Mazumdar reported that some clients have doubled their platform usage within two months. In a particularly compelling case, one customer rapidly expanded from an initial 10 user licenses to 450, effectively rolling out the tool across the entire organization.
Beyond answering questions, WisdomAI has introduced an “agentic” feature that provides real-time, proactive alerts. Users can set up monitors for specific situations, and the system will notify them the moment something significant changes.
Mazumdar shared a personal example: “I created an agent to watch our product usage and support ticket data. It took me about five minutes to set up. Now, instead of getting a daily report, it alerts me only when something interesting happens.”
This shift from static, backward-looking reports to dynamic, proactive intelligence is at the heart of WisdomAI’s vision. “We are making analytics dynamic,” Mazumdar stated. “We are making it proactive. That’s where the real magic is for businesses.”
